Rachel Ara (TB-05) is part of TECHnique talk at the V&A on 24 September 2017 from 12-1.30pm.

Why do some artists stick with traditional techniques, while others use digital? At TECHnique, Rachel Ara, Nick Rothwell and Shelley James, three artists from different fields, will tell their stories, explain their choices and the lessons that they have learned. Together, they will explore the impact that technology is having on the arts.
This event is part of the V&A's Digital Design Weekend, bringing together artists, designers, engineers, technologists and the public to celebrate and share contemporary digital art and design. It is also a part of the London Design Festival, celebrating contemporary digital art and design.

The talk is free to attend but booking is essential.

This is an opportunity to learn some basic computer aided design tools to use in your creative practice and understand how to send off models to be 3-D printed.

Jennifer Farmer (5-223) has a performance as part of America Dreaming taking place at the Royal Academy on Saturday 22 April 2017.

"Urban dustbowls and Emerald City dreams. Cotton pickers tend a suffocating Mother Earth. White roses carrying white Harlem heels”. In a series of performance provocations to be sketched, Art Macabre and live artist Jennifer Farmer throw down the pitchfork and centre the marginalised narratives of the American landscape. Grab a pencil and let the tableaux inspire your drawings and ignite your imagination."
