Naomi Bourne, Oil on Board, Greenwich Picturehouse (8 Dec 2017-31 Jan 2018)

Naomi Bourne (0-10a) is exhibiting paintings in her solo exhibition, Oil on Board, upstairs at Greenwich Picturehouse from 8 December 2017-31 January 2018.

Greenwich Picturehouse, 180 Greenwich High Rd, London SE10 8NN.

For me engaging with a painting is akin to the sensory and kinaesthetic way in which we experience the landscape. Specific locations become points of departure for each new body of work, through which I explore all aspects of the place – light, colour, form, even temperature. I aim to construct evocative series’ of works that move away from literal representation. Within the group of works in this exhibition, many were made in response to a ten day residency I undertook in Morocco in 2015. The rest were made from trips to the Lake District and islands on the West Coast of Scotland in 2012. I chose this selection of work based on their balance and contrast as a group. - Naomi Bourne, December 2017
